I. Allegro
II. Moderato
III. Adagio

Instrumentation: oboe, clarinet, bassoon

This piece has been written and dedicated to “Trio Stroikowe Raatz’uchy” of which the composer is a member. It’s written in three parts in the jazz and film music style. There are also parts that suggest neo-baroque influences.  The first movement explores the idea of improvisation based on ostinatos, which end in a passacaglia. The second movement is written in a very mellow mood that progresses forward with more and more rhythmical intensity. The third movement starts with a slow introduction that leads to a neo-baroque fugue, which in turn moves forward with growing motivic elements and contrapuntal manipulations. It ends with an energetic coda.

Performance of this piece is very enjoyable, and so is the listening. The melodic lines and instrumental registers make this piece not very difficult to play. Rhythmic precision is needed especially in the first and third movements.
